Fantasy Makeup
The first remnant of makeup dates back to the Egyptians – over 5,500 years ago! Thanks to the Pharos, we have been able to perfect it into an art form.
Whether you need fantasy makeup for the theatre, fashion, Halloween or just for fun, this site is your # 1 source.
Dedicated to bring you the latest news, tips and tutorials we’re sure to have what you’re looking for.
Remember to go bold and daring. Anything goes.
Before you begin make sure the face is clean (including clean of makeup) and dry. Moisturizing the face is also a good idea.
Many of the examples on this site require the eyebrows to be covered up. This allows the artist (you in this case!) to start with a clean pallet and the eyebrows can be redrawn and repositioned or left off completely (depending on the look). There are links through out this site that will show you how to do exactly that.
Choosing the right makeup is crucial and brighter the colors the better. Good bold makeup includes: Ben Nye, MAC, Chanel, Nars, Urban Decay, or any high pigment makeup line.
Equally as crucial is choosing the right brushes. When picking your brush keep in mind the size, shape and texture directly relates to how well you’re going to blend, shade and make straight lines. MAC brushes tend to be a bit expensive but are well worth the investment (longer life, higher quality) and are hands down the most preferred brush from this artist.
Using a mixing medium with the loose powder makeup works really well allowing you to apply the makeup with a brush creating a smooth, flawless face.
Use multiple colors to blend and create amazing contours.
Don’t forget to add the accessories. Many of these tutorials will call for false eyelashes giving the model a dramatic, dreamy look.
Adding well positioned rhinestones and glitter will set the look off and draw all eyes on you. But too many will make you look like a disco ball (unless of course, that’s what you want)
Adding feathers, stickers, leaves, jewels, stick-on tattoos, etc are also good accompaniments when making a fantasy style.
Take a moment to look around and make sure you visit the recommended products page to get you on track on any of your fantasy makeup projects.
